It's a metaphorical picture :3
The man is falling... he's the one who's singing the lyrics. The dragon is the one he's singing to.
But this is vague, I don't really know myself what the man and the dragon actually mean.
Another idea is, that the man is falling into darkness - and the dragon symbolizes the deepest point of how low you can get. He has waited for the man to come so far and is now... um... saying hi O.o
Okay, tell me what you think.
The only thing I know for sure, is that the butterfly means hope, but at the same time its wings are growing in a weird way over the natural form - which means that this hope is not real. Just an illusion. o.o

Material: quill and brush, coloured drawing ink, water colours (alot of colour, I had to tape a second carton at the back. This picture is actually pretty small, just one of my pile of cards.)
Plus I pulled down the gradiaton curve a bit in photoshop on this - but the original is really already very dark.

Or wait - maybe he's just dreaming about falling through an endless stream of... dragons. He keeps dreaming of dragons. And how he must help save them from his own species, who care less. :c So the butterfly would mean hope for the dragons... but the illusion hope would mean that the dragons are not THAT sure or trusting that this one human who doesn't approve of dragon-slaying could convince his species that they must stop hunting dragons, and time is short before the dragons will go on a raging revenge.
